You are a unique expression of God’s creation. There’s never been anyone like you – and there never will be. God designed you with everything you need to fulfill the one-of-a kind ministry assignment He has given to you.
The you … you are is the sum of the components of your divine design. Your life story hasn’t been a haphazard, random set of experiences; rather, everything that has happened in your life has been for two reasons – to make you more like Jesus Christ and to prepare You for the work has for you to do.
God has given you spiritual gifts and natural abilities to make a Kingdom-difference in the world. He has embedded in your heart a passion to meet a need; to solve a problem; or to infuse a core value un the world.
From your mother’s womb God has formed your temperament that affects how you take in, process, and act upon information. It is the way you see the world, relate to others, make decisions, and communicate your ideas.
Do you know the you … you are? Plato wrote, “The unexamined life is not worth living.” Isn’t it time to examine your life to understand who you are, why you are here, and how God wants to work through you to make a difference in the world?
Our New Coaching Program
Designed to Serve will help you understand “the you … you are” through our 8 session small group coaching program. Each session focuses on a different aspect of who you are – your life story; spiritual gifts; natural abilities; passion area; and temperament. Then this information is used to help you understand your unique ministry purpose and the best place for you to serve.

Dr. Steve Lake is a retired educator with over 30 years experience in the American public schools. He has served in a variety of position, including teacher, elementary school principal, junior high principal, Associate Superintendent, retired from public education as Superintendent of Schools in Lincolnwood, IL. He has his Bachelors, Masters and Doctor of Education degrees from Northern Illinois University. For the past 25 years Steve has attended and been a member of Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington and Northfield, IL. At Willow Creek Steve has taught adult classes on spiritual gifts, life purpose, and spiritual disciplines. He has ministered overseas in Angola, Zambia, Honduras, Germany, and Russia. Steve is co-founder of Designed to Serve, a ministry that equips Christians to live out their unique God-given calling. Steve is married and has two adult children who are married.
