The Trinity & Spiritual Gifts: Jesus Christ

Each member of the Trinity has a role to play in Spiritual Gifts.

Holy Spirit (v 4): “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit.” Each gift is an expression of nature of the Holy Spirit. There are various gifts, but they all come from the same Spirit. He is the gift and the Giver of gifts.

Jesus Christ (v 5): “There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.” Christ directs believers into specific ministries or offices. He positions believers exactly where He wants them. There are ways to minister, but we serve the same Lord.

God the Father (v 6): “There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men.” God supplies the power that flows through us in ministry. God alone determines the impact. The effects will vary, but it’s the same God doing the work.

Once you know your gifts, God expects you to use them to serve others. “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms” (1 Peter 4:10). But where should you serve?

The obvious answer is to serve wherever and whenever the opportunity arises. Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”

But Christ has one place – one ministry – where you can utilize your spiritual gifts most effectively. If you ask Him, He will guide you to it.
