Recently my friend Jon Noto and I got together over coffee to identify his spiritual gifts. I explained that his top spiritual gift clarifies his specific ministry assignment from God. His top spiritual gift is leadership.
I told Jon that he can use his leadership gift anywhere, but the most effective place - the place where he will be most fruitful and fulfilled - is with his audience. This is a group of people or a social issue that God has embedded in his heart to make a difference for Christ. Jon has a God-given desire to impact young adults.
Finally, I sent Jon off to pray about the specific outcome that will take place with his audience as a result of his ministry. He wants them to experience greater authenticity.
Putting it all together, Jon's mission - his unique ministry assignment - is to lead young adults to greater authenticity. Knowing his mission gives focus to Jon's life and helps him direct his resources towards fulfilling his mission
